Driving in today, I thought... I love nursing

Care for patients. Care for you.

The environment at TQEH means there are genuine opportunities to provide the best care for your patients on both a clinical and a personal level. So what makes nursing at TQEH stand out?

First, we have a culture of respect between our medical and nursing staff. This means care is delivered in a shared supportive environment. The team works together to ensure the best for our patients

Second, there's a focus on building supportive ward teams who trust each other and communicate openly.

Thirdly, we're a 350-bed teaching hospital serving a community of over 250,000 people locally and to a wide rural and remote catchment of South Australia.

So nurses can develop clinical expertise in a wide range of areas including:

Medical Outpatients

With over 200,000 patient visits a year, the department provides specialist consultation, management and education for people in the community .

Renal and Transplantation Unit

Our Unit is the state Renal transplantation centre providing patients with ESRD options on their care from all forms of dialysis and transplantation. The State-wide Nephrology Nursing programme is conducted from TQEH.

Haematology Oncology Department
